Thanks for checking in on me. My name is Dan, and I’m a Cancer. I hope this blog makes you laugh, and maybe makes you think. Well, I don’t care about your thoughts too much, but the laughing part is pretty accurate.
I grew up in the suburbs of St. Louis. Born in 1980, which means I’ve only seen five presidents in my lifetime so far. Not that I like politics. I actually hate them. Well, not the idea, but the players involved. To me, the fact that we have just as many TV channels devoted to sports as we do politics is a good sign. I’ll always root for my teams, regardless the odds against them. I care somtimes too much about what happens to Mizzou or my Cardinals. I’ve lost that passion for the Rams, but only because it seems the team has lost it as well. I’m not a real emotional person, but sports is actually one thing that can get to me. I’ve cried twice in the past decade, one over the loss of a family member, and one over the ending of Marley and Me. I mean seriously, why would I ever want to watch a movie that made me feel that way? Girls are weird, man.
I’m probably too nice sometimes. The meanest I get is almost always relayed through sarcasm. And I’m pretty damn good at that. I’m harmless, but often know the buttons to push. I’m married, no kids, two dogs, a house, a fence, and a Nintendo Wii. I’m working on my Master’s degree, and almost think I know what I want for my next career move.
I hope this blog gives me the creative outlet i’ve been looking for (via other blogs, but you have to crawl before you walk, right?) I hope you like what you read. I hope if you don’t like what you read, you comment on it so I can tell you how wrong you are. I’m complex but simple. I’m insecure but fairly confident. I’m lazy, but I get the job done. I’m slow, but I play a mean game of softball.
That’s it for now. Hopefully I’ve said nothing that makes sense, you’re curious, and you want to read more.
